J Lowry, LLC is seeking a Drafter for a full-time position at its Clear Lake / NASA Houston Area location. J Lowry, LLC is an Innovative Industry Leader in the Design of Boilers, Pressure Vessels, and Tanks. POSITION:
- SolidWorks Drafter with Pressure Vessel Experience
As a Drafter proficient in SolidWorks, you will be crucial in transforming clients designs and ideas into detailed and accurate Fabrication Drawings. Your knowledge of SolidWorks and strong attention to detail will be essential in ensuring the precision and quality of these drawings and contribute to the success of our team and that of our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Generate detailed 3D parts, assemblies, technical drawings and schematics for manufacturing and construction purposes.
- Manipulate the model to add or remove components as needed; able to create custom drawings from the 3D assemblies.
- Work closely with our team to ensure understanding of specifications, requirements, and design criteria.
- Calculate dimensions, weights, limitations, and material requirements.
- Design layouts to illustrate the workflow.
- Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the Engineering Team.
- Identify potential issues and redesign products to improve functionality.
- Quality is essential, QC your work is paramount.
- Ensure that drawings adhere to company standards and specifications.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience utilizing SolidWorks.
- Proficient in the use of SolidWorks, Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills:
- Knowledge of ASME, API, PIP Standards a PLUS.
- Able to Understand, Comprehend, and Read Compress Calculations to design drawings. Knowledge of Compress a PLUS.
- Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks 3-D software 2+ years.
- Codeware Compress Skills is a plus but not necessary.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling tools.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication skills.
